Open Spaces

Take a break from crowded cities and distracting to-do lists and explore the home of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. With scenic trails, breathtaking waterfalls, and plenty of outdoor recreation activities, your next adventure begins here! 

The Pennsylvania Grand Canyonalso known as the Pine Creek Gorge, is a beautiful place to explore. Visit either side – Leonard Harrison State Park or Colton Point State Park for a “gorge-ous” view!

At the bottom of the Canyon, you’ll find a great trail for a bike ride - The Pine Creek Rail Trail. It’s over 62 miles long! If you need a place to camp while you’re exploring, there are many campgrounds along the trails. You can also enjoy picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, and watching wildlife at Ives Run.

For those who love the water, you can rent kayaks, canoes, rafts, and inner tubes for use on the chilly waters of Pine Creek. Or, go swimming, kayaking, canoeing, or fishing at Hills Creek State Park.

Located only 45 minutes from Wellsboro, Cherry Springs State Park is the perfect destination for astronomers or those of us who want a quiet place to watch the stars with friends and family. Cherry Springs State Park is famous for their dark skies, making it one of the best stargazing experiences around. Take one of their private, guided star tours, or try one of their photography workshops to learn how to capture the best nighttime shots.

Tyoga is the premiere golf course in Tioga County, using all-natural terrain to create some of the best views in the state. Bring the whole family out for some fun – all ages and skill levels are welcome!

This is a much-loved weekend packed with fun activities for people of all ages.
